Project Manager - Automotive

in R&D Product Development

Job Specifics

As Project Manager you will support managing the product development team through the development process, ensuring that the requirements for the project gateways are delivered on time and within given quality requirements.
  • Support project management team in product development through the development of a new vehicle content on a complex commercial vehicle
  • Support leading meetings with cross-functional teams that are involved in the development of a new vehicle carline in order to go through complex issues to deliver optimum solutions
  • Teams include Engineering, Design, Purchase, Manufacturing, Finance and Marketing teams
  • Handle wide ranging assignments from senior management presentations to detailed analysis
  • Analyse and manage program delivery requirements, key work streams and critical path processes
  • Issue deliverables to project team, manage deliverables status and lead team to deliver gateway requirements and to achieve required deadlines in R&D support-functional and cross-functional team meetings
  • Guide team through product development processes and lead any process issue resolution
  • Co-ordinate and manage preparation of program status and metrics to support team and management reviews
  • Analyse program risks and opportunities and communicate appropriately to management

The ideal Candidate

  • University degree in Engineering, Project Management or equivalent with a 2:1 classification or above
  • Project Management experience gained in the automotive industry in R&D
  • Understanding of engineering processes
  • Strong organisational, time management and prioritising skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects along with analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented approach and leadership ability
  • Proficiency in MS Office, esp. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent English language skills
