Embedded Modem Feature Engineer (m/f)

Location: Cologne

Job Specifics

  • Ownership of the development of embedded modem features as part of the customer experience for the global market
  • Create System requirements considering architectural requirements and re-usability
  • Approve subsystem interface and design specifications to enable connected vehicle features
  • Ensure all system requirements meet customer expectations with regards to function, ergonomics, serviceability, legal and safety requirements
  • Active involvement in design reviews (defining targets and proposing design alternatives whilst ensuring launch timing requirements)
  • Ensure compliance with engineering targets through the entire development cycle
  • Monitoring and control of feature development status incl. report out and provision of decision recommendations
  • End-to-end development of features incl. analysis of test results and resolution of any failures and/or non-compliance
  • Integration of module interfaces and CAN communication with connected services and systems (HMI, IT, 3G, LTE, TCE, ECU)
  • Create Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) documentation for platform enabling technologies

The ideal Candidate

  • Proactive interaction with all connected departments
  • Confident reporting to all levels of management
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills interacting with global teams
  • Minimum three years of experience in the field of automotive engineering preferably in system┬áintegration
  • Knowledge and/or experience with IT / mobile technology interfaces and standards desired
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle systems and interfaces
  • Very good IT skills (Excel, Teamcenter, Power Point)
  • University Degree (Bachelor or Master) in Engineering, preferably Electronic- or Computer Engineering
  • Ability to work independently in a global cross functional Team
  • Fluent in English, good German skills would be preferred
